Song to MIDI

Turn a whole song into MIDI. It's separated into vocals, bass, piano and other first, so each instrument gets its own clean track, on the song's tempo.

Splits the song first, then gives every instrument its own track.

How it works

  1. 1Drop the song onto the box above (Whole song is already selected).
  2. 2AnyToMIDI separates the instruments, then transcribes each one.
  3. 3Listen to the MIDI against the song and untick tracks you don't want.
  4. 4Download one MIDI file with a track per instrument.

Separate first, then transcribe

Converting a finished mix in one pass gives a single track of tangled notes. AnyToMIDI splits the song into vocals, bass, piano and other first, then transcribes each part with settings made for it. The piano part goes to a dedicated piano model.

Drums are separated but not converted yet: drum-to-MIDI needs its own model.

Good uses

  • Re-producing a song or a demo in your DAW with your own sounds.
  • Getting the chords and bass line of a track you're learning.
  • Turning an AI-generated song into editable MIDI, part by part.
  • Pulling a melody out of a reference track to study it.

Questions

Is it free?

Whole-song mode runs on our servers, so free accounts get a 30-second preview of any song. Pro converts whole songs up to 15 minutes.

Will the MIDI line up with my DAW's grid?

Yes, for music with a steady beat. AnyToMIDI detects the tempo, writes it into the file and moves the first beat onto a bar line, so the notes land on your DAW's grid at the project tempo. If it reads a slow song at double speed, use the ½× button before downloading.

Why isn't every note perfect?

No converter gets dense, many-instrument audio exactly right: chords and full mixes are genuinely hard. A clean single line converts very well. For a whole song, AnyToMIDI separates the instruments first so each one is transcribed on its own, which gives a much better starting point than converting the mix in one go.

What happens to my song?

The audio is sent to our server, converted, and deleted. We keep no copy of your audio or your MIDI.
