MP3 to MIDI converter
Convert an MP3 to MIDI online. Whole songs are split into vocals, bass, piano and other, each on its own MIDI track, lined up with the song's tempo.
Splits the song first, then gives every instrument its own track.
How it works
- 1Pick what's in your MP3: one instrument, piano, or a whole song.
- 2Drop the file onto the box above.
- 3Check the notes in the piano roll and play them back against the original.
- 4Download one MIDI file with a track per instrument.
Whole songs: every instrument on its own track
Most MP3 to MIDI converters run one model over the whole mix and hand back a single track where vocals, bass and chords are tangled together. AnyToMIDI separates the song first, into vocals, bass, piano and everything else, and transcribes each part on its own.
The piano part goes to a model trained only on piano; the others use presets tuned for their range. You get one MIDI file with named tracks you can assign to your own instruments.
One instrument: free, in your browser
If your MP3 is a single part (a bass line, a riff, a vocal take, a loop), choose One instrument. It's converted on your own device, nothing is uploaded, and there's no limit on how many files you convert.
Getting a clean result
- Use the best-quality file you have; heavy compression smears the notes.
- Choose the instrument in One instrument mode: the presets ignore pitches outside that instrument's range.
- Untick tracks you don't need before downloading.
- Expect to tidy dense chords by hand; single lines need much less work.
Questions
Is it free?
Converting one instrument is free and unlimited, and runs in your browser. Downloads are free too: 3 a month with a free account. Piano and whole-song mode give you a free 30-second preview; Pro converts whole files up to 15 minutes.
Will the MIDI line up with my DAW's grid?
Yes, for music with a steady beat. AnyToMIDI detects the tempo, writes it into the file and moves the first beat onto a bar line, so the notes land on your DAW's grid at the project tempo. If it reads a slow song at double speed, use the ½× button before downloading.
Why isn't every note perfect?
No converter gets dense, many-instrument audio exactly right: chords and full mixes are genuinely hard. A clean single line converts very well. For a whole song, AnyToMIDI separates the instruments first so each one is transcribed on its own, which gives a much better starting point than converting the mix in one go.
Can I use any song?
Convert recordings you have the rights to use: your own music, licensed samples, or material for personal study. AnyToMIDI doesn't take YouTube or streaming links.
