Hum to MIDI
Hum or sing a melody into your microphone and get MIDI notes, on the beat. Free, in your browser: nothing is uploaded.
A melody, voice, bass line or riff. Converted in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
How it works
- 1Press Record from microphone and allow access.
- 2Hum or sing one line, up to 60 seconds. Or drop a voice memo instead.
- 3Play the MIDI back and check the notes.
- 4Download it and play the melody on any instrument.
Catch the idea before it's gone
A melody you hum on a walk is easy to lose and hard to play back exactly. Hum to MIDI turns it into notes you can drop straight into your DAW, transpose, and build a song around.
Humming that converts well
- Hum on a clear vowel ("doo" or "na") rather than with your mouth closed.
- Leave tiny gaps between notes so each one starts cleanly.
- Record somewhere quiet, close to the microphone.
Questions
Is it free?
Converting one instrument is free and unlimited, and runs in your browser. Downloads are free too: 3 a month with a free account. Piano and whole-song mode give you a free 30-second preview; Pro converts whole files up to 15 minutes.
Is the recording uploaded?
No. Recording and conversion both happen in your browser.
Will the MIDI line up with my DAW's grid?
Yes, for music with a steady beat. AnyToMIDI detects the tempo, writes it into the file and moves the first beat onto a bar line, so the notes land on your DAW's grid at the project tempo. If it reads a slow song at double speed, use the ½× button before downloading.
